Have you ever wanted to know how scripts and add-ons do all those wonderful, magical things automatically? Do you find yourself doing the same work multiple times? This session will introduce you to the world of writing code to get Google Apps to do that work for you, freeing up time for other things (like learning how to code). Based on the JavaScript programming language, Google Apps Script can connect to 11 different apps, and even external APIs. If you've ever wanted to get your students started with writing a program, you will learn about resources for everything from providing instruction, getting support from the community, and publishing scripts so your students reach a global audience. Be warned: this will get incredibly geeky!
